Questions people ask before they order

Essential or Family?
Essential is $39 once and covers one parent. Family is $59 once and covers two, which is what most families choose. If you start with Essential, you can add a second parent later for $20. Both include everything else and 12 months of updates.
Is it a subscription?
No. The kit is a single payment ($39 for one parent or $59 for two) with a 60-day refund, and it includes 12 months of updates (Keep Current). After that, Keep Current does not renew by itself: you can choose to subscribe for $39 a year, and if you do, we email you 30 days before each renewal and you can cancel any time in your account.
What if I don’t renew?
The sheet, wallet cards, share link and PDF keep working, and your data stays yours. Only new photo reading, the discharge tool, update emails to family and the dose log pause.
What if it reads a label wrong?
An AI service reads each photo. It’s very good at printed pharmacy labels and weaker on handwriting and crumpled boxes. Nothing goes on the sheet until you confirm it, each line sits next to the photo it came from so you can check it in seconds, and you can type or fix anything by hand. Every sheet says “Verify with prescriber/pharmacist”, and your pharmacist can check the list for free.
My siblings won’t sign up for anything.
They don’t need to. You send a link, or they scan the QR on the fridge sheet, and it opens in their phone’s browser. Add a PIN, hide insurance numbers, or switch the link off any time.
Is the data safe?
It’s encrypted in transit and at rest, each family’s records are isolated at the database level, and share links are long random codes you can switch off at any time. Photos are deleted once you’ve reviewed them unless you choose to keep them. We never sell data and there are no ads inside ParentFile. Privacy policy
Is this medical advice?
No. ParentFile organizes what’s already written on labels and documents. It doesn’t recommend doses, check interactions or diagnose anything. Every sheet says “Verify with prescriber/pharmacist”, and you confirm every item before it’s saved.
