Accessibility statement
Last updated: October 26, 2026
ParentFile is used by people helping older parents, often on a phone, often with tired eyes. We want every part of it to be usable by everyone.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across the website, the app and the shared pages family members open.
What we've done
- Large default text (19 px body) and high-contrast colours; nothing relies on colour alone.
- Buttons and form fields are at least 48 px tall, so they're easy to tap.
- Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline, and has labels for screen readers.
- Pages reflow at 320 px wide and at 200% zoom; action bars stop being “sticky” on short screens so they never cover what you're checking.
- Printed ER sheets and wallet cards are black and white, with body text no smaller than 9 pt. Long lists continue on a second page rather than shrinking further.
- Motion is kept to a minimum and switched off if your device asks for reduced motion.
Known limitations
- Reading a label from a photo depends on the photo. If a label is hard to read, you can always type the details in by hand.
- The payment window is provided by Paddle, our payment processor; its accessibility is outside our direct control. If it gives you trouble, email us and we'll help you buy another way.
- We test with current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, and with screen readers on phones and computers, but we haven't had an independent audit yet.
Tell us about a problem
If anything is hard to use, email support@getparentfile.com with the page and what happened. We reply within 2 business days and, if needed, we'll provide the information or the service another way.
